Get to Know the 2018 Ford Super Duty Trucks in Arlington, Texas

Capability isn't about brute strength; it's also about hauling and towing smarter. The 2018 Ford Super Duty models, like the Ford F-250 and Ford F-350, make tough moves a breeze thanks to lightweight body materials, clever features, and more potent power. These heavy-duty pickup trucks come in a wide array of cab style, trim, features, equipment, bed length, and powertrain configurations, and yet no matter how you build it, the Ford Super Duty series is always tough enough to get the job done. We have them both right here at our Arlington, TX dealership location, so take a look below and learn more about what they have to offer.

What's New for the 2018 Ford Super Duty?

There's not a whole lot to report for changes on the 2018 model year Super Duty trucks but, if you ask us, that's definitely not a bad thing. One of the biggest differences is the new Limited trim level that's at the top of the lineup, boasting tons of premium features and materials throughout the cabin. Additionally, the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo-diesel engine has had a power boost of 10 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque, giving it a total of 450 horsepower and 935 lb-ft of torque, mustering even more monstrous muscle to get you through the toughest jobs.

It's named the Super Duty for a reason and, once you hear the engine rumble under the hood, you'll be a believer. It's motivated by either a 6.2-liter gasoline V8, worth 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, or a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbocharged diesel V8 with best-in-class torque -- 935 lb-ft of it, alongside a whopping 450 horsepower. When properly equipped, this all adds up to best-in-class towing and hauling capabilities, especially when paired with four-wheel drive; with best-in-class maximum payload of 7,630 lbs, maximum conventional towing at 21,000 lbs, best-in-class gross combination weight at 42,800 lbs, and best-in-class maximum gooseneck towing at 34,000 lbs, you'll never be left wanting for more muscle as you handle any Mansfield job that comes your way.

If you're familiar with the Super Duty series, you'll notice that the 2018 model year provides you with some truly aggressive and handsome exterior elements, sure to get you noticed from Fort Worth to Grand Prairie and everywhere between. This includes upgraded grille, headlight, mirror, front fender, and door designs. As with the previous model year, the exterior of the Super Duty is clad in all-new aluminum materials as well as high-strength steel for a lighter weight without loss of rigidity and strength. Thoughtful new features include available power running boards, LED lighting, and a power-locking, remote-controlled tailgate.

While all Super Duty models are spacious, each trim offers its own unique styling elements and technologies to provide you with exceptional comfort as you cruise through Grapevine. You can have you F-250 or F-350 as a no-nonsense workhorse or a plush luxury truck, complete with leather upholstery and power-operated everything. The Western-themed King Ranch is a fan favorite, as is the midrange Lariat, which unlocks a wealth of the Super Duty's creature comforts. Of course, no matter which one most appeals to your particular wants and needs, you'll be cruising in comfort and confidence no matter where you roll.

Convenience and Safety

Cameras, cameras, cameras! Visibility is great from the driver's seat of the 2018 Super Duty truck, as it employs seven cameras to help with everything from connecting a trailer to peeking into blind alleys. It's called the ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System, and it gives drivers a 360-degree view around the truck, and it can also work alongside a pair of rearview cameras. Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, cross-traffic alert, and collision mitigation are available for additional peace of mind.

Adaptive steering is also a favorite feature, as it blends the variable steering ratio of electric with the fluidic motion of hydraulic. Ford's fresh SYNC® 3 touchscreen infotainment system keeps you connected while minimizing distraction thanks to voice controls, intuitive organization, and a responsive interface.

What's the Difference between the 2018 Ford F-250 and the 2018 Ford F-350?

The F-250 and F-350 offer the same trims, same powertrains, and pretty much the same features inside and out. That said, there are a few differences when it comes to capability. Whether you choose the F-250 or F-350 depends on what you're going to do with it; since the F-350 is a larger truck physically, you can expect it to provide you with an edge over the F-250 in terms of total towing and payload capacities. Regardless of how you equip them, the F-350 will out-perform the F-250 when truly put to the test. Otherwise, both of these pickups will provide you with the same driving comfort and feel, and that's definitely a good thing.
